Well, it's close to 100 degrees, even at the beach, but luckily last weekend might have possibly been the most perfect beach day ever. After a morning session of what I like to call "Hangover Yoga" and some solid time at the mall, I rounded up some of my favorite girls for some much needed beach time.

My guide to the perfect summer day is following the 4 B's...

Beach-Maybe all of us don't live as close to the beach as others, but make a trip, lay out at the lake, cruise the river, hell, hit the pool. If there's sun and water, there's a promising day ahead.

Babes- Bring your friends!! Even if you just want to chill, if your friends are worth keeping around, no one minds if you read or take a nap. Or hang out and gossip and make plans to go wine tasting. All of these things entertain me. Not to mention, it's more fun (and less creepy) scoping out guys when you are with other people.

Booze- I know we all need to be healthy, but a little white wine or Cook's Extra Dry never hurt anyone on a hot day. And because I walk to the beach, it's totally acceptable. Just make sure you've got your water bottle too (and it's full of water, not vodka). Plus, you can get cute red cups like the ones we had or fun sippy cups! As long as they are plastic, anything goes. Oh yeah, and don't get an open container ticket.

Bocce- Feel free to replace bocce with other beach games like corn hole or paddle ball, but bocce is my current favorite. Hang out and throw balls! It's a little different on the sand then on the grass, but it is fun and entertaining and you can vary the level of difficulty by what direction you throw in and avoiding tourists as obstacles.

It just so happened that we were on B Street as well, so if you are in Newport, make it 5 B's. Most importantly, just go outside, dust off your favorite bathing suit, and have some fun with your friends!!!
